‘TA talk’

We spend a lot of our time talking to people.  We try hard to make this mostly an exercise in critical listening.  It’s very easy to ‘talk’ and come away from a meeting not knowing quite what to do.  The art is in the listening; (having asked the right questions, of course).  As with so many aspects of what we’d like to think passes for a sound design strategy, it’s the ‘why’ rather than the ‘what’ and the ‘how’, that we think, is most important to establish.

Over almost two decades in practice, we’ve developed something of a speciality for acting as architectural technical advisors (TA) within the field of education; on behalf of the Department of Education, via multi-disciplinary consultants and directly with local authorities, on nurseries and primary schools, secondaries and all-age schools and FE colleges (both mainstream and SEND). We’ve been fortunate enough, over the years, to have seen many of our designs built, but privileged to have been a party to the genesis and concept development of many, many more.
